Objective Correlative Series

“Objective Correlative” Series Artist Statement
a novel in seventy-seven words and violin obbligato

“Thunder. A monsoon rages, rivulets swelling into a torrent. Oblivious, drenched lovers cling, in their veins a long-dammed passion.

A new dawn: the camera returns to an early opalescent sky. It is Paris in the thirties, she is sixteen, the first large drops spatter the avenue.

Married now, she turns to her dinner partner. Music swells, an unquenchable thirst. She turns, brushes her glass. it crashes and breaks. No one notices. We do.

Thunder. A monsoon rages.”
